Photoshoot with Lily…

Posted on March 8, 2010

Lily came to our studio yesterday to take some photos.  At nearly 8 months old, she is one of our youngest subjects to date.  Brought by  her mom and grandmother, she had a great personality, and just loved to stare at the two of them, no matter where they were.   The entire time she was with us, she looked at my lens just once!  And with her tongue sticking out at me as almost to say “nanny nanny boo-boo”

She was a delight.   I can’t wait to take more pictures of her and her family, perhaps again when she gets a little older.

Engagement Photos with Meghan and Mike

Posted on February 21, 2010

Well, it’s been awhile since an update, and I’ve missed it.   I’ve neglected to update my blog, for we have been super busy with photo shoots, vacations, anniversaries, Christmas, and you name it!  It’s nice to be writing here again.

Engagement shoot, what a great time!  It was a bit cold, in fact it was actually snowing when we started, but even with the poor conditions, I think we got some excellent shots.   A new location for us we tried out, was the James White Fort Near the women’s basketball hall of fame.   Made for a neat backdrop for some close-ups.

These two make a great couple.   You can really tell how much they love eachother, and I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding day.

The end of the road, but not really….

Posted on August 22, 2009

Well, I’ve just finished getting the music together and planning a few last minute details for our final DJ event.  It is a wedding today at The Tea Room in Norris.  This one should be pretty exciting because we put together a custom medley of music for their first dance.  It’s going to start with the normal slow dance type song and mix into several different dance songs!  Everything from Baby Got Back to Kung Fu Fighting.  It should be lots of fun!  They have props ready to go, and they have been rehearsing for 2 weeks!  We have been DJ’ing weddings now for over 9 years.  It has been a great business, and it has been a blast!  There is nothing like filling up the dance floor with the music your spinning!

But as one door closes, another one opens.  We will be focusing 100% on our photography. It is our new love, and we can’t wait to see where we can take this business!

Some quick Pictures

Posted on July 22, 2009

A friend of mine asked for some pictures, and who am I to ever say no?   I love snapping photos and working with various softwares to produce a final image.   My goal is always to spark some sort of reaction.   From “Wow, I look good”, to “I remember what a wonderful day that was!”.  Capturing moments in life is what makes this job great!

I can’t wait to find out where my camera takes me next!

Rachel and David's Big day!

Posted on July 8, 2009

Well, another great day and another fantastic wedding!  The sun was bright but the temperature mild.   The ceremony took place in the groom’s father’s back yard.  What a view!  The reception took place at Calhouns on the River.

Okay, this is one of the neatest things I have seen at a reception, and it is defenitely worth sharing.   As you know, when ever the glasses are clanked, the newlyweds have to kiss.   Well, they put a special twist on this.   They had the names of all the attending couples.   Whenever the glasses rang loud, they drew a couple’s name from a basket.   This couple would have to kiss, and however they kissed, was the same way the newlyweds were to kiss.   It started off with some regular kisses, but as the night progressed, the kisses got more and more elaborate, until finally making it to the final kiss from David’s Dad and Mom.   They did a choreographed routine, starting with kisses up her arm, a little rodeo rangling, among other things, and finished off with a BIG WET ONE!   Check out the picture below for the beginning of this!

Joy and Bryan's Wedding

Posted on July 8, 2009

Well, the day has finally come.   It started as a small wedding, but as the father of the bride told me, it just kept on growing as most things do.   They had a fantastic ceremony at Joy’s father’s house, followed with a reception outside in the back yard.   It was a little steamy that day, but they had some great coolers in the tent, and the shade was certainly nice.

I told her dad that he should rent out his home for ceremonies.  The spiral staircase and the large open living room was perfect for  a reception.   They were defenitely lucky to have such a great location so close by!

Joy and Brian had originally picked out the wedding ring together.   What Joy didn’t know, was Brian had been saving up for a much nicer ring.   She had no idea, and when he presented the ring to during the ceremony, she actually screamed!

David and Rachel's Engagement Session

Posted on July 8, 2009

Again, I lucked out with getting to work with a fantastic couple.   Coming from North Dakota, Rachel has traveled quite a distance to make her new home with David in Knoxville.  The two of them are just a perfect match.   We met for these photos at the UT gardens after some downpours.   Things were a little wet and muddy, but we did our best to avoid most of it.   When I said our best, what I really meant was they avoided the mud.   To get some great shots, I was often in it, and even during a fence jumping, I managed to sling it all over me!  In fact, there’s still mud on one of my light stands.

They are doing alot of upgrades at the gardens since the last time I was there.   They are incorporating a new waterfall and garden area, along with a separate flower bed containing a center piece of an old truck and a gas pump.   It looks like they are going to grow some flowers in the bed of the truck, but until then, I think we got some neat shots out of it.

I can’t wait for their wedding, it’s sure to be a blast!

Jessica and Robert's Wedding

Posted on July 8, 2009

We have certainly been lucky with the weather this year!   With all the weddings we have been doing, not one has had bad weather.   That must be good karma!   Everyone we have photographed has been so nice.  That makes our job so much more rewarding!  Robert and Jessica are no exception to this rule.   Getting married in May in Clinton TN, they had a wonderful ceremony at their church.  We then moved to a relative’s backyard for the reception.  Often times, after engagement photos, wedding portraits, family pictures, and all the other pictures we take, couples have had enough.  That wasn’t the case with this group.   They kept asking for more and more, and who am I to say no?   We captured alot of great moments, plus did alot of really fun pictures.  In fact, this is defenitely the first time I have ever photographed a bride wizzing by on a dirt bike!   If you want to see some more of these pictures, just go to http://tandjphoto.smugmug.com/gallery/8354563_h3dS9#547945037_rhxcr

Angela and Michael's Wedding day!

Posted on July 8, 2009

What an honor is was to be a part of this day.   Michael has just returned from Iraq less than a week ago!   Angela has been working hard to plan their wedding, and I think it went off without a hitch.  Something new to us, we did both the photography and the entertainment!   We had a blast and would like to thank the two of them for allowing us to provide both of these services at their wedding.

I loved the music they had at their ceremony.  I’m not sure but I think they are close friends of theirs.  They did a wonderful job of creating the mood!  Not to mention the singing was fantastic.

Just the guys!

These guys were awesome.   They were up for anything!   We even had them dancing the YMCA in Village People wear!
