Elizabeth and Patrick’s engagement photos!

Posted on May 1, 2010

WINDY!!! That just about sums up this e-session!   We took aver 500 pictures in this short time, knowing that 9 out of 10 would have some hair blowing in someone’s face and would be unusable!   They were troopers though, what a great couple!  Patrick is actually the brother of Maggie, of whom’s pictures are posted in an earlier post.  Two weddings in this family just four weeks apart!  I’m excited that they have allowed me to photograph both of these fantastic events.  Check out some pictures below.

Marae and Travis, their engagement photos.

What a fantastic couple!  This year I have really been lucky.   Everyone I have met and worked for, has just been fantastic.  This couple is no exception.   Great people.   We walked around town, some of the time with their two fantastic dogs.  I had been eyeing a Hardee’s billboard that is pretty low to the ground for some time.  Since I always carry a ladder (I know kind of weird, but sometimes you want to be up high when photographing) I thought this might be a great opportunity to try something a little crazy, and maybe stupid.  I don’t know if those Hardee’s shots are worth anything, but it was fun!  We finished the day at the park.  I can’t wait for the wedding!

Engagement photos on a great week!

Well the weather doesn’t get any better than this!  I was lucky enough to meet Maggie and Ben out for some photos today, before we do their wedding next month!  We just can’t wait!

We traveled around town, snapping some photos at the worlds fair park, university gardens, and a bit around town.  Ben didn’t want to do anything “corny”, but next thing I know it he says to Maggie, Hey, let’s do some dumb shots!”   Next thing I know they are spinning around eachother, and of course, riding piggy-pack.

I think we all had a great time.   Can’t wait for next month!

Engagement Photos with Meghan and Mike

Well, it’s been awhile since an update, and I’ve missed it.   I’ve neglected to update my blog, for we have been super busy with photo shoots, vacations, anniversaries, Christmas, and you name it!  It’s nice to be writing here again.

Engagement shoot, what a great time!  It was a bit cold, in fact it was actually snowing when we started, but even with the poor conditions, I think we got some excellent shots.   A new location for us we tried out, was the James White Fort Near the women’s basketball hall of fame.   Made for a neat backdrop for some close-ups.

These two make a great couple.   You can really tell how much they love eachother, and I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding day.

David and Rachel’s Engagement Session

Posted on July 8, 2009

Again, I lucked out with getting to work with a fantastic couple.   Coming from North Dakota, Rachel has traveled quite a distance to make her new home with David in Knoxville.  The two of them are just a perfect match.   We met for these photos at the UT gardens after some downpours.   Things were a little wet and muddy, but we did our best to avoid most of it.   When I said our best, what I really meant was they avoided the mud.   To get some great shots, I was often in it, and even during a fence jumping, I managed to sling it all over me!  In fact, there’s still mud on one of my light stands.

They are doing alot of upgrades at the gardens since the last time I was there.   They are incorporating a new waterfall and garden area, along with a separate flower bed containing a center piece of an old truck and a gas pump.   It looks like they are going to grow some flowers in the bed of the truck, but until then, I think we got some neat shots out of it.

I can’t wait for their wedding, it’s sure to be a blast!

At the UT gardens, Rachel was non-stop smiles!

Harsh sunlight made this a little tricky, but what a great backdrop!

Joy and Bryan Engagement shoot

Posted on April 20, 2009

Joy and Bryan met us out a few days ago and let us do their engagement photos. We had a blast!  Since most flowers, leaves etc. aren’t quite growing yet, we did a downtown theme, trying to find some neat spots for some back drops. I think they turned out pretty good.

Thank you two for letting us into your lives for a day! We look forward to seeing you at your wedding.

Okay, here’s our cat!

Posted on August 23, 2008

Well not bad for 3 minutes of work. My wife is so patient with me… I have destroyed our large TV room upstairs, temporarily filling it with nothing but White! It surrounds you! Creating a white background was difficult, but I am getting good results out of it. I am waiting on just 1 more piece of equipment, then we will start doing people, rather than cats! Mario (Our Cat) seemed to enjoy the attention, and he certainly looks good in front of white! A little gray in the top left corner, but with a new light stand, that should be eliminated easily. Doesn’t he look good?
