Fantastic wedding spot, right in our backyard.

Well almost in our backyard…

I often get asked by people where they should have their wedding.  Looking at the world thru a camera lens, I often think of areas that have a lot of opportunities for great photography. I would like to share may favorite spot with you!

The Rosewood Gardens.  Located just outside pigeon forge, this is the prettiest spot I can think of to tie the knot.  I had the privilege of shooting a wedding about two months ago on these fantastic grounds.   Driving there, I had no idea where I was going to end up.  All I knew was that this location had some great spots to take photos.   At least that is what the Bride told me.  Once I arrived, I was blown away.   Small and quaint, this venue can only hold a ceremony as large as 100 guests, but the gardens are enormous.   Nine different themed gardens cover over 4 acres of perfectly manicured land.   The owners even took great consideration in providing different areas that lend them selves nicely to the different seasons.   They truly are amazing.

Not only are the gardens great, so are the owners.   Leading the charge is Kay Chapman.   What a gem.   I think she would do just about anything to make sure your ceremony is as seamless as possible.

Take a look at their website if you are in the market for an outdoor venue.  you can locate it at www.rosewoodgardens.com There is alot of information about the gardens and the venue located there.

Meanwhile, here are a few pictures from the wedding we did at this spot.

New offering Video!

Posted on August 3, 2010

We have been wanting to offer our customers video for some time.   Currently we are rolling this out on a limited basis.  Have you hired a traditional videographer or seen someone’s wedding video?  Typically these last for along time, and let’s face it, no one wants to relive the entire wedding. Well maybe some would, but an 1 hour video is just too long to watch.

I would like to share a recent video with you, that we did at a wedding.   We are putting together the highlights of the wedding, to music that the bride and groom select, then add some tid bits that really make it pop.   Utilizing a steady-cam, two HD cameras, and separate recording devices, we are able to capture comments from guests, the wedding officiate and his words, and just about anything else!  Unlike future videos that are produced using two photographers, this one was completed while working solo!   In fact it made for a hectic day, but I feel like the results were worth it.  I asked the bride and groom to record a short comment about each other and the day.   We incorporated this into the video.   Now we missed a few moments that would normally appear in a wedding video.  This is because heck, I was a photographer first at this wedding, a videographer second.  I knew we wanted to capture everything in photos, and what I could in video.  The video below is displayed in HD.   If you would like to view the HD version, let us know!

The sky is the limit with future videos, especially with the use of two photographers.

Another great wedding!

Elizabeth and Patrick, these two are amazing.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the church during this ceremony.  The officiant was telling their story, and man was it a tear jerker!   I knew these two were very special, but after spending this day with them, I definitely under estimated them.  They kept things simple at their wedding.   Focusing on friends and family, you can tell how close nit this group is.   I was very lucky to be a part of their day.

What a blast!

We were lucky enough to shoot a wedding recently at a family farm house, one of my favorite wedding locations to date, not to mention what a great time!  This beautiful home was located somewhere in TN, that I cannot even remember how I got there.   Nestled between some hills, we had to drive what seemed like a few miles on gravel roads to reach this location.   Man was it worth it!  something that stood out at this wedding, that is unlike any other I have been to, (which is a lot!), was how easy going the entire day was.   There were several places for people to mingle and relax at this awesome location, and there was a real calm to everything.   Never was anything rushed, and I never saw anyone that seemed stressed.  It was really a neat, care free day, where these two great people became one.  I hope you enjoy some of our pictures below…
